death’s dynamic shroud : Darklife

Available on vinyl, CD, cassette, and digital download via 100% ELECTRONICA: https://deathsdynamicshroud.bandcamp.com/album/darklife-2
All three members of death’s dynamic shroud (James Webster, Keith Rankin & Tech Honors) reunited for the first time since 2017’s Heavy Black Heart for their recent suite of material – ‘Judgment Bolt’ (Single), ‘Fall For Me’ (Single), ‘Neon Memories EP’, ‘Messe de E-102 EP’, all parts leading to their most ambitious work to date – ‘Darklife’ out September 23, 2022 via 100% Electronica.
“Since 2014 we have been releasing albums under the death’s dynamic shroud name in pairs or as individuals, but Darklife is the strongest representation of our combined sensibilities, shifting from heavy electronic dance music to bubblegum pop, from gentle ballads to harsh digital abstractions; it is an outpouring of ideas and acts as a new beginning for the group. Much of the album is about the nature of love as a metaphor for our individual philosophies sparking and melding in the music, examining love as a social construct, or as the fabric of the universe, or as not existing at all. As our debut for 100% Electronica, Darklife can also be seen as a bridge between the underground tape and electronic scene of the 2010s into the dance and pop world the label has been shepherding.” -death’s dynamic shroud

before i cool off is next level and one of the best songs i have ever heard
What a feast for the ears. I can't even start to explain which tracks made me feel and hear beyond understanding.
This is what we all wanted to happen the first time we mixed all of our crayons together.
THIS IS SO GOOD. SUCH AN HONOR
Melon brought me hear.
I like the bit where it goes into Panic Puppet from Sonic 3D Blast for a minute, I to have done that in songs
Judgment bolt best track for sure
i love you guys
Strange with DDS albums I go from hmm maybe I need to listen to this a second time to end up loving it. Good stuff
Finally some real fucking music. these guys actually have brains as opposed to most vaporwave producers who just slow down songs. it's not even close how hard it must have been to make this album. you actually need to know shit and be able to play instruments. The sounds in this album are so on point too. love the synth patches on here. Love the slightly orchestral bits too. but mostly i'm a sucker for that digital brass like in parts of neon memories. all the songs are so great here.
Death Dynamic Shroud might just have invented a new genre of music
Light Left the Garden is really good
Samples:
Stay – "Panic Puppet Zone Act 2" from Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn)
Judgment Bolt – "Cool" by Dua Lipa; "Heat Haze Shadow Pt. 1" from Tekken 7
Neon Memories – "Lovers" by Kai Whiston; "Neon Patrol" by Rebecca Peake
Light Left The Garden – "Always" by K7te; "My Scarlet Black" by Black Hole Future; Shiva's Diamond Dust sound effect from Final Fantasy XIV
Missing Person – "Missing Person" by Rebecca Peake
Messe de E-102 – "Beginning of the End" from Tekken 7; "Masse de E-102γ" by Rebecca Peake
After Third Heaven – "Sinking Horses – Second Sewer" and "My Heaven" from Silent Hill; "Ball Wall" from Tekken 7; Leslie's fiancee cutscene from Final Fantasy VII Remake
Before I Cool Off – "Forest Temple" from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Fade Persona – "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus; dialogue from The Young And The Restless Episode 11885
Fall For Me – "Guide Me" by Arno Elias
Rare Angel – "Moonsiders Pt. 2" from Tekken 7 (remade); "One More Try" by Mariah Carey; "Made in the U.S.A." by Demi Lovato
Perfect Angel – "Moonsiders Pt. 2" from Tekken 7; "Made in the U.S.A." by Demi Lovato
Neon Memories reminds me of Geinoh Yamashirogumi's Ecophony Gaia.
I loveeee :3
Geez LOUISE that's some good shit right there!!
Not sure which song to listen to on repeat first
The cover is spectacular. It looks futuristic but 2000s and 90s at the same time
I love how cinematic this is.
super, nada más q decir
What a bunch of teenage retards climbing out the woodwork
This is just so immaculately produced. Such a diverse mix of influences and genres distilled into a refreshing mix of experimental left field composition as well as more accessable pop and hyper pop inclusions. Saying that this album is ahead of its time is an understatement; this is about as progressive as electronic music gets. many producers will listen to this and seethe over the fact that they could never construct something this mindblowing. My boys have made it and I am infinitely proud of what they have created for themselves.
Death's dynamic shroud still has some of the most unique and special sounding music I've heard to date
I think Light Left the Garden samples from The Naiad – Fuddyq
cool
here before this pop off
