Queen Anne of Denmark's brother was the (in)famous Danish king Christian the 4th. When Anne was married off to James in 1589, Christian was only a kid of 12-ish years old, but had been king of Denmark for a year. He was extremely scared of witchcraft and the story of the storm, when Anne travelled to Scotland, and that it was caused by witchcraft influenced his future life a lot. During his reign the witch hunts in Denmark were massive and lots of men and women died. Allegedly the story of the storm was the turning point for him and the catalysator for the witch hunts in Denmark.

You should have shown the spirits compassion, and explained that today hanging isn't done in general, and people are not condemned like they were. I'm sure many seances and rituals have been done there, and dangerous entities are lingering around. The spirits need to be pardoned, hopefully to move on in peace.

Alice Nutter one of the Lancaster Witches was my x7 great grandmother. My middle name is Alice in memory of her.
The Witch hunts back then under king James and then following him Elizabeth 1st were tragic.
