There was a large hotel/casino/brothel/speakeasy on the east side where the public fishing pier was built. Stood abandoned til Gov parris Glendenning tore it down and built a pier. Was wide open during prohibition. St Mary's was a notorious bootleggers paradise with unlimited water landings and minimal population. Especially if the locals are included in the profits. Might be getting a little ghost action from there too.

I volunteer down here at the Confederate Memorial Park. Further north about a mile. This portion of the fortification, that was never actually manned or defended, is always on display with the doors open to welcome curious visitors. It's very nicely kept and shows how things were. It's always very breezy here as it is RIGHT on the water. Everyone should visit this fort and on the way in, stop in at Confederate Memorial Park. We're right next to the Confederate Cemetery in Scotland, Md. Hope to see you there !!

Yeah I had to go back and pause the video to see it. Wow ! I grew up and never felt comfortable back there. None of those buildings looked like that in the mid 80s. It was swampier and trees surrounded those buildings. They weren't painted, just pretty dilapidated. It was mosquitoes in droves and just very creepy.
I went there today and took some pictures, I never really felt uneasy even though I thought of the possibility of there being ghosts, but I had to check my photos of the buildings and the lighthouse to see if there was anything in the doorways or windows lol

Im from Maryland. I moved to Oklahoma in 2019. I did some community service down there a couple of weekends back in 2013 (September/October) I was in an hour lunch break abs I fell asleep inside one of the buildings there tbay has a lot of bunks in it. I was laying on a wooden table and I was woke to heating “turn around black!” In a faint voice but stern. It w sole there. Was end of year. I was literally the only one around. The crew was at the work building. It’s very eery down there

What would you think would happen if people dressed up in high ranking Union and Confederate uniforms, tell them the war is over ? Saying those captured are released and Union soldiers are dismissed of their duties. When dealing with spirits try not to show fear especially to bad entities, they will exploit it. My grandmother lived in the lighthouse with her parents and grandparents and many young aunts and uncles when she was very young, around 1900 to 1903. Her grandpa was the lighthouse keeper for many years. Granny said they never encountered ghosts but I truly believe things happen there. I have not experienced anything the few times I have been there. I wiil say you gave me a fright though.

Yes I knew I wasn’t the only only who had bad feelings about this place
I have been there late at night when we used to do the Halloween ghost walks. Had a blast. And not to be sounding like an ass, but you really should have stuck around the area, even if it was just to sit on the bench, and see if 2 people just showed up out of nowhere hand in hand like lovers ( hint hint ). LOL when my 1st hubby and I were newlyweds we would get freaky in those buildings ( summer & winter ) and quite a few times people would show up just walking around and taking pics. We were almost caught a few times and once or twice we would have to sneak the door shut to try and buy time from being found and man does it get real hot up in there real fast. Have to crack that door as soon as possible.
