Sometimes too if you have placenta Previa (which is normal), and making love, you also spot.

I had placenta previa with my daughter & bled off & on throughout my entire pregnancy. At 38 weeks, I had a healthy, beautiful baby. Prayers that all will go well for you & baby girl.

Not sure if this was discussed by your doctor, but pelvic rest is sometimes recommended for the double placenta (in addition for other reasons, including spotting).
