thanks for mentioning the missing wired listening function, even if you only touched on it. Can’t believe they removed a feature. Not upgrading the headphones sucks, but removing a feature is horrible

I think they are a safe bet if you get them for 400 bucks.
Apple has claimed that they have no plan in sight for the AirPods Max.
I believe they just didn't nailed the product-market-fit at first when they launched them.
Nobody in their right mind should've paid 629$ back then and now 579$ to just listen to music.
These are NOT professional headphones for something like music production or mix and mastering; they weren't before with lightning let alone now that you can't even connect them through a USB C cable for maximizing lossless – which you were able to do before with lightning.
They are okay for editing videos, listening to music and that's really about it.
I love them and I'm gonna get them next month, but they are, objectively speaking, really expensive.
If it wasn't for the fact that every Apple device I own has USB C now, I would get the lightning ones for much cheaper.
Caved in and got one in Starlight and I found myself using it more than when I had my XM5! The lack of power button surprisingly didn’t bother me. I appreciate how they’re ready to use once they’re in your ears ❤ 2 weeks in and no complaints with it
To comment on the chipset situation of the AirPods Max "2". For me it does not really matter. Although I waited for more than a year and I expected H2 or even H3 AirPods Max. BUT!! The H1 AirPods Max Noise Cancellation is even better than the Pro 2´s.
That's being said.
I also used the Pro 2´s since release, and have to admit that I never used Conversation Awareness (Yes I am aware that that was´nt available from the beginning) and adaptive audio.
I just picked up a pair of USB C AirPods Max and I am more than happy!!
My advice, buy them now!

I also had that hair thing these headphones cushion on headband the canopy will deteriorate with time around 2 yrs later then it hurts i bought some rubber cushion to put in that from amazon now its ok that hair does bend down too much cause of weight and width of headband other that that cant wear these for longer than an hour too heavy now i bought bose qc ultra they are awesome with immersive audio it sounds more open n has 3 band eq very comfy when apple launched 2nd gen airpod max i just just said f—k that n bought bose these dont bend my hair either at all really max screws with hair too much bend n hair thins cause of it , i know now my hair is fine , on top immersive audio on bose is universal n their app is also good i also bought qc ultra buds my god so comfy n sound cool no pressure feeling either just big buds in size but good i think bose knows more about anc n headphones speaker etc thats why its better plus bose invented anc
then again thanks for review cool shot of headphones at beginning keep up the good work loved little details u gave bout maxs i got qc ultra for discount too also max but got max 4 yrs back so i know how they are apple has awesome service centres they replaced my max when they malfunction within a week got replaced by them , sorry for long comment just wanted to let people know my experience
Apple wanted to keep the same feature of picking up the audio device and playing, just like the airpods across on the airpdos max as well, and that's a good thing. I have the XM5's and it gets really annoying when I have to press and hold the power button for 3 seconds while turning on and off every single time. It feels like a caveat and you should've listed it as a pro rather than a con since you don't have to worry about power.
