Mercenary is now good! With the buffs to Crossbows and some of the Merc skills, there’s a variety of skills that Merc can use to make Endgame a breeze. This variant will be using grenades but I will be doing a totem and a Glavanic/Shockburst version here soon!
Here’s my Endgame Mercenary that has carried me into Tier 15 Mapping and Pinnacle Bosses. It utilizes grenades and fire exposure to wipe screens with one button. Someone said to not use yhe Anoint ,"Forthcoming" because Skill Effect Duration no longer works on Grenade detonation time. Is this true? If so, ehat other anoint would you use?
You could not invest in fuse reductions and just use explosive shot.
hey dude , wanted to ask a question if it is still possible , how exactly is 'Decimating Strike' (ascension node skill) work when it specifies that it'll only work on enemies with 'full life' while we have this helmet that counters that making all enemies be 'low life' . are you sure it's still working ?

one thing i should definitely tell you consider bringing explosive shot on top of your grenades its not about the damage explosive shot will instantly detonate all your grenades when you fire at them after throwing them which adds some insane synergies with oil grenades, poison grenades and explosive grenades again its ALL grenades will be instantly detonated when you shoot explosive shot at your grenades.
Great guide but i like to give some opinion if i might. Afaik accuracy is irrelevant for aoe grenade dmg but i am not sure.
Since you have leather bound gauntlet and general bindings; wearing high armor gloves instead of hybrid gives you tremendous evasion and because of general bindings even more armor.

I would love to see some day some shotgun build. Was experimenting with titan explosive shot reload on heavy stun but did not found proper endgame items to make it work in very endgame 🙂
Been running this build, I’m not knowledgeable in making my own builds work so I’ve been following the guide to a T. I’ve been cruising through the campaign, and it’s honestly fun to play. I haven’t gotten the helmet yet but I’m sure it’ll just multiply the fun factor. Thanks for sharing your build.
I got 75k+ dps on my explosive grenades but I am struggling with evasion and armour (64% and 48%). Do you die very often? xD.Trying to reconfigure my passive tree and try to make it more defensive solid. Any idea is welcome! Anyway, thanks for sharing. Great video!
Welldone. Just a question. Why are you not priotizing taking the increased physical damage in the passive tree. Nodes like (Cruel methods and Goring)? My understanding is that physical damage scales damage the most since the elements are just a coversion off of the max physical damage.
Whats better+6 to proj skills or 80%+ elemental damage
as a note skill effect duration does not affect grenade detonation time anymore, all you're doing with reduced skill effect duration in this build is reducing gas grenade cloud time

Go back and read all the sorcery ward nodes again lol. You re losing 5% only. Read the fucking nodes lol
And how do you deal with accuracy?
Merc was probably my least favourite class last season, but he's my favourite this season. I'm glad this build is going under the radar a little bit as it's the most fun i've had with POE2 since launch insanely fun.
hi only this allocates is good? i used now volatile grenades – 25% reduced detonating time. what u think?
Hi, my detonate time is too slow, how can i increase? : i followed all of yours tips, but my detonate time is: 1,8s
try swapping out expedite for payload.. with expedite on average, 1/5 grenades pops twice.. with payload 5/5 most of the time.. thats double dps.
if u can get a 4th slot on gas grenade, i'd go break posture.
with the 10 extra spirit i throw clarity on time of need.
why no explosive shot to trigger grenades as well?
Only downside is it's grenades and they're a super boring skill.

I'm pretty sure scattershot gem makes it worse. If you're lunching 5 grenades with 1/3 less damage, it's really close to just throwing 3 but with full damage. And you don't suffer from the attack speed reduction and you also open up a gem slot to add more damage.
I wish I liked merc more but grenadier builds just aren't my thing. At least last season they weren't, maybe the style has changed.
