In this series, Andrea and I venture inside one of the craziest places we’ve ever set foot in.
A 14 billion dollar mega project/ ghost town in China which got abandoned during the COVID-19 pandemic. This 12km2 / 6,5 mi2 abandoned city features 23 hotels, 200 hotsprings, waterparks, a theme park, a circus and much much more.
In this episode we venture into some of the 23 abandoned hotels and some abandoned hot springs parks.

By appearance, the opulence is breathtaking. So much money invested that would have benefited the many people unable to afford a higher standard of living all for nothing and no one. The builder could have been heroes instead of zeros.
Last time it was a chinese wonderland now its a resort area such wasted money and time snd space and energy

The project you are describing is the Fuxing Happy City (also commonly known as Fuxing Wonderland or China's Abandoned Disney Copy), located near Fuxing Town in Tianjin municipality, about 100 km southeast of Beijing.
– Construction started: Around 2014–2016
– Abandoned: Effectively halted around 2020–2021, with the COVID-19 pandemic being the final blow, but the project was already in deep financial trouble before that.
It was never opened to the public and never significantly populated.
– The theme park castle and some surrounding structures were mostly finished externally by 2018–2019.
– A few hotels and hot-spring facilities reportedly opened on a very limited basis in 2018–2019, but only to a tiny number of visitors (mostly local day-trippers).
– The vast majority of the resort — including almost all hotels, the water parks, the circus, and the residential areas — remained unfinished or completely unopened.
– By 2020, the developer (Fuxing Group) was bankrupt, construction stopped entirely, and the site became a famous "ghost city" urban-exploration destination.
Today (2025), the site is still largely abandoned. The iconic castle still stands, slowly decaying, surrounded by empty hotels and overgrown roads. There have been occasional rumors of restarts or takeovers, but nothing significant has happened.
