Cloak of flame might be a good option for phys mitigation, considering the huge elemental ward that's usually up. Makes cloak into like 40% less phys damage instead of the normal 30% after taking fire damage.
As someone who’s first character in POE2 was a Witchhunter I realy want to try this build as my next char this league.
Can this work on a Smith of Kitava? I know I'll lose the explode node :/
Why not try blowing up the gas grenades by radiant grief or explosive grenades? I think the damage will be so much bigger and more explosions from zealous inquisition
I think your insight in phys damage is spot on, given how in the recent ziz interview they said they balance the campaign around having 0 res.

This build is getting a buff on next big patch too, GGG buffing Shard Scavenger.
"Shard Scavenger, in addition to its current effects, now also restores one cooldown use for all your Grenades and grants a buff for 2 seconds that prevents your Crossbow Attacks consuming bolts."
Get out of my build library! I started one of these before 0.2 and liked it a lot but did the Concentration and Culling points on the ascendancy.
What about putting corrosion directly on High velocity rounds?
Edit: make use of the weapon swap points aswel, you don't need those grenade passives when you are hitting with HVR
I dropped my companion with shroud walker and haste.
Shroud walker comes with a teleport ability that results in the minion being far behind enemy lines and thus you don't have haste.
Shroud walker is only beneficial for melee builds in my opinion.

Since you're using the Advanced Munitions notable to increase your base poison chance to just over 100% and Zealous Inquisition is not a projectile, would that not mean your chance to poison with Zealous Inquisition is probably not capped?
I tried pretty much this exact build in 0.1 but the damage scaling was lacking for endgame bosses. Nice to see how it's doing now after the crossbow buffs.
22:45 Each poison stack from High Velocity Rounds deals about 2.5x the damage of a bleed stack. If you have only one poison and assuming that the bleed actually applies (high likelihood at 85% application chance and possible multiple hits to proc it), adding the bleed adds about 40% more DoT damage, but if you have 3 stacks it's only about 13% more damage. In practice with High Velocity Rounds not always having the full damage (about 3x) for consuming broken armor and the occasional super poisons from exploding enemies overriding a High Velocity Rounds poison stack or two, you're probably somewhere in the middle. So, that does seems like a fairly solid support. Certainly better than, say, Physical Mastery (which could probably be on Scavenged Plating if nothing else).
Love the build, sux thwt lightning spear builds do so much damage with one button that outshine things like this but love the fresh ideas

Witchhunter is in a really nice spot with the buff to Sorc Ward. Galvanic Shards WH with the increased culling threshold helmet is also really strong right now.
Detonation time and fuse time are 2 different stats, that's why you see it as 2 seconds, but the fuse is 3 because that gets hit by the increased fuse duration
Lol I made such a similar build. Few days ago I also made a gas grenade build, also combined gas grenade with High velocity round but made HVR bleed instead of poison like you and then scaled both ailments. Went deadeye instead for more poison stuff.
The companion tech you are doing is insane though, I was wondering how you are not dieing in T15 map but 27% less damage taken (taken by companion life) will do that. Very smart extra trankiness on an otherwise abysmal life scaling balanced game. My own build only has eva/armor and 2.4k life and I just get one shot every once in a while.
It made no sense before that crossbows didn't roll two-handed versions of modifiers. Glad to see the buffs were impactful.
