Scary Stories to Tell In The Dark – The Haunted House

Thank You Mr Dabrood, I enjoyed this story very mucho and wasn't scared.

What I like most is that your story encompasses many facets … tension, intrigue, mystery, suspense, deceit, revenge, avenge, peace, promises fulfilled … the preacher was right to speak in a quiet tone and not be afraid {like in The Sixth Sense when Haley Joel speaks to the little girl … he was scared at first until he learned he was on a mission to speak on her behalf}.

I just remembered that I had a similar experience to last sentence of your story except I was exploring an abandoned old farmhouse during the day {can't remember how old I was, maybe between 10-13 cuz I rode my bike beyond the state forest to discover the house} … upon leaving the dilapidated structure, I noticed a burnt handprint on the inside of front door frame … I touched it, there was no soot or residue, it was like if you took a metal instrument from a fire and singed the surface like branding … I didn't want to believe that it was an actual burning hand that caused the indented print, so I chalked-it-up to someone who did a good job at making it look like a burnt hand print … to this day, I still wonder how that handprint was created.
