I Spent A Day in Europe’s Largest Gypsy Slum

In Plovdiv, Bulgaria, there is a slum where more than 70,000 gypsies (or Romani people) call home. I was so curious to find out how they are living, so I went there and I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw! Thanks for watching, and comment down below with your thoughts on this story 🙂

  1. I went into Stolipinovo feeling nervous and intimidated — unsure of what I’d see, who I’d meet, and how I’d be received. But as the day unfolded, those feelings completely melted away. What I discovered instead was a community full of warmth, resilience, and incredible people with big hearts and inspiring stories.

This experience reminded me yet again why I love what I do — it’s easy to label or stereotype places from the outside, but until you walk the streets, talk to the locals, and share a meal, you’ll never truly understand. Stolipinovo further proves that every place has its own magic!

Thanks for watching and I am looking forward to reading your comments, thoughts and reactions down below!

  2. its not poverty that keeps them living like that, they choose to live like that. they have given many opportunities that white people didnt have but they choose to beg for money and collect trash.
