Large Family Cooking as a Single Mom of 9

Hey Jam Fam and welcome back to Large Family Meals of the Week! This one is full of big food, real life, and feeding my big family of 10 as we roll into a brand new year together. You’ll also see me managing the details of our emergency food boxes and donations. THANK YOU for letting me brainstorm that undertaking in this video. The delivery details worked out very differently as the week progressed. You can watch the full video linked below to see how everything actually unfolds https://youtu.be/zJs10u76Ebs?si=PC7usBAqhLt7tdju

I’m cooking and serving meals from the freezer, and keeping food moving through out the week. We bake 2 dozen homemade salmon cakes from the freezer, meal prep about 8 pounds of broccoli, baking a 10×15 pan of baked spaghetti from the freezer, prepping quinoa in the slow cooker, and making three 9×13 pans of cinnamon rolls…plus burning a fourth pan 🤦‍♀️😂 because that’s how I roll 😆 . We also bake our already prepped gluten free sausage biscuits and cook egg roll in a bowl from the freezer, plus more!

There’s also a lot of life happening right alongside the large family cooking and fun. We host a New Year’s Eve charcuterie and game party, run a New Year’s Eve 5K glow race together. Additionally we celebrate a Walmart 😂 provided birthday and do more Christmas bucks shopping the next day on New Year’s Day.

We’re fitting in steps, sunshine, movement, and making single mom of 9 life work, one meal and one day at a time. Thanks so much for being here with me 🤗

  1. Love your vibe and these videos. I just want you to know you have inspired me to get into low carb and get healthy. I heard your latest personal story about how you got your pre-diabetes down and I am now on my low carb journey. I am even making bone broth 😄. Thanks for sharing

  2. Hey mama! You have such awesome content!
I was wondering if you would show us your laundry routine/ situation for ur big family! I'm a mama of for mom of four here and any tips for keeping on-top of it as a busy working mama would be amazing!!!

  3. I have been watching you since the farmhouse days. Feel like I know your health journey. I have never heard you mention medical ketosis for healing. You swim in the same waters as me as far as what you read and listen to but have you tried healing through ketosis? I have found it remarkable but it does require a ketone meter. Blessings and love.

  4. You are an extremely caring woman Jamerrill. I know this channel is geared to moms but as a single dad, your ideas help me out. When I first was thrown into this life by my ex, the mother of our kids walking out in 2017, I was devastated. She left all of us. You have been unknowingly helping me with ideas of what to cook, how to make lists to prioritize and everything. If I could afford it, I would help some people where I live that I know are hurting right now. Thank you Jamerrill. For every idea you’ve given.

  5. The trees and the leaves and the sun and the air…..I loved that. Hit home. Going to get out and move more often this year. Nature really is the best medicine. Loved all of this…and your salad with the pizza cheese toppings at the end oh my goodness. Yumm. Hugs

  6. I can't not eat anything g that has stevia in it. Most artificial sweetners , monk fruit and stevia causes severe stomach issues.

The only artificial sweetner I can digest with no issues is aspartame.

I have to read the ingredients of all sugar free products. For now I limit regular sugar, which has been better on my gut health.

  7. ❤I am so happy to hear you are being able to let things flow into the next day. You will always have tomorrow to finish a list! But you don’t have to feel guilty, it’s okay! Enjoyed videos as always, we are proud of you us❤

  8. Hey, Jarmerell! First, hugs your way from Florida! 😊 I am a long time viewer and love your channel for many reasons, but mostly just YOU! You make my day happier, less stressful, and I relate to you completely. I am taking a moment to send you a quick heads up in case you didn't notice (I know I wouldn't have!). Under your kitchen cabinet by your under cabinet lighting, there is a small patch of I think flies? I know I fight mine here in Florida like you do, with fly strips. I'm not certain why they decided that was the spot to keel over and die, but knew you'd prefer knowing than not. Take care of yourself this season, the flu is a real bugger this year. Hugs and fishes from Florida.

  9. My sister-in-law is watching A Handmaiden tales on tv. My goodness it sounds terrible! I always like to read the book first. Lots of good work going on at your house. Thank you for sharing, see you soon Jamerrill ! 🍕🥳🍕

  10. My grandma would use the slow cooker to make homemade chicken broth and bone broth. I told my husband about the price of groceries going up I am going to start making our own butter and cheese and ice cream and yogurt and bread and pasta and more homemade the way that my Mennonite grandma and my English grandma and my mom teach us four girls and I told my husband that we are going to start freezing our left over Meats and chicken and soups and more for a back up dinner.

  11. Hi Jamerrill, you may need to check your garlic and onion powder as normally garlic and onion aren’t low fodmap foods. Good luck on the next layer of your health journey. Sending healing prayers from the UK

  12. Very Nice thing you are doing for families. Maybe next Year make it easier on yourself each family gets A Walmart Gift card for groceries $250 each save yourself the stress while healing inside and out.. just a Suggestion 💖 if not an option for you delegate more to helpers. Make it easier on yourself.

  13. Hey Jamerill, I know it’s too late for this time but maybe next time you do a big project like that, it would be easier to use two boxes per family rather than trying to sort all the bags. Just a thought you were very brave to take this on
