  1. I just got this. Saw it and decided to try it out. Will see how it goes but it already feels very nice on my hands. Like really nice cooling soothing after i applied it

  2. THANK YOU for making this video and for discussing actual SCIENCE about the ingredients. Full disclosure I am a fan and long standing customer of The Ordinary. When this product came out I hesitated because I had read about Growth Factors molecules being too big to be absorbed anyway. I emailed my question about this to The Ordinary and to their credit they replied quickly. I bought it anyway (ignoring the little voice in my head) I’m not re-purchasing.

  3. Whatever it is, it's working nicely for my almost 60 year old skin. I have put this on after double cleansing and then I apply the E.L.F. drops for hydration. Have noticed super soft skin all over my face.
    Happy!

    *can't beat the price either

  4. You don't want to Combine topical growth factors with acids like AHAs because they have very low pH (< 4) which unfolds proteins and shortens peptides. Acid catalysis breaks peptide bonds and can scramble disulfide bridges that hold growth-factor proteins (e.g., EGF, TGF-β, bFGF) in their active 3-D shape.

  5. IGF-1.. hmmm… might not be the best idea… IGF-1 IS important but it needs to cycle… cranking up IGF-1 all the time can do more harm than good… If this product actually works and the GFs can get in through the skin I'd only put it on in the morning, if at all.

  6. Growth factors are all hype. I tried SkinMedica's TNS serum years ago and I saw no improvement. I used the entire bottle. So it took about a month or more to finish using it. I agree, these type of serums promote hydration and so many other products do as well.

  7. 56 I use ordinary retinol 1 percent 3-4 days a week . Timeless vitamin c and estrogen cream on the face 3 times a week
    Red light
    Micro current
    And facials every 2 months
    That’s it
    No lines no sagging

I avoid the sun and use sunscreen when uv is higher than 2

  8. I don't know what kind of witchcraft it is, but this serum has transformed my skin overnight. It really does work. BUT I do wonder if it's healthy because I read a few years ago that ingesting growth factor stuff might lead to a higher chance of cancer (definitely fact check that though). And like you said, not much reliable research has been done on topical growth factor. I mean if you're messing with your cells … it makes sense that it might mix some things up.

  9. Well that’s kinda freaky scary to wonder if growth factors could attach to cancerous cells, along with attaching to normal cells. I mean, it makes sense. How would the growth factors be able to decipher a good cell, or a cancerous cell?

I would really rather not find out, or gamble with it. I just bought a bottle of The Ordinary GF 15% serum, and now I don’t even know if I want to continue using it. I think TO, other companies, and scientists, really need to do some studies on this topic.

I will be pausing using this GF serum, until I do more research on the topic 😳
