Poison Gas Grenade/Plague Bearer + Zealous Inquisition & Trampletoe | Witchhunter | Path of Exile 2

Firstly, this is not my build/build idea! I found this build on PoE Ninja while browsing potential builds to play last league (thank you so much kylw999).

The build looked really cool to me, so I wanted to give it a try for 0.3. Especially with Abyss’ league mechanic, I thought it would be too perfect not to do so!

*I am so sure that there could be many things that I am missing and or do not understand, so just take that into account when it comes to what it is I share/talk about!*

With enough Poison on Hit chance, Zealous Inquisition will always poison surrounding enemies whenever it procs (I believe the same applies for Trampletoe’s overkill damage?), with Herald of Plague, Bursting Plague, Trampletoe, alongside Decimating Strikes & Cull, you get some really satisfying explosion chains!

I leveled with Explosive Grenade and Gas Grenade throughout the acts and such until I was able to pick up most of the poison nodes!

I didn’t have a good physical weapon, so I used an ele crossbow with Plaguefinger for the majority of my progression!

Until I got a decent weapon, I heavily relied on Plague Bearer (PB) + ZI to get me through my early mapping. Whenever ZI procced (and or Bursting Plague/Trample?), it would instantly fill PB for us, which made mapping feel very smooth despite not having the best of gear!

I don’t know how necessary Trail of Caltrops is, but it felt nice to have a little extra safety through its slowing + ability to have another source of damage/poison to potentially start an explosion chain on its own, helping with filling our PB, again making things feel smoother while mapping.

I really do love how everything sort of feeds into one another, benefits each other!
