22:35 epic foreshadowing
2:31 "Let's jump on in"
Shows the trio jumping down to the stadium
I personally found the second verse of How It's Done pretty cringe. Maybe I'm just old, but all the modern slang they drop in the last few lines felt forced to me. I probably would put it a bit lower in my ranking for that.
Aside from that, I can't really argue with this ranking.
7 takedown
6 freEEeEeE
5 golden
4 soda pop
3 idol
2 how it’s done
1 what it’s sounds like
25:24 absolutely
James you should bring back patrick
3:29 this is flat wrong it’s not last place it’s first last goes to free or takedown
Spoiler Alert:
I'm disappointed that my two fav songs, WISL and Free, were last but I do get it and his points are 100% valid.
10:41 How It's Done
10:58 Golden
10:59 Takedown
11:28 Free
11:37 Soda Pop
11:42 What It Sounds Like
11:45 Your Idol
This is What It Sounds Like sounds more like a Christian youth church song than anything
Ngl my list is exactly the same I’ve been listening to to your idol and how it’s done the most
12:06 i cannot take this scene seriously anymore. ive seen too many edits
free is a masterpiece dude what the freak
My personal ranking for the songs was
1. Your Idol- lowkey feel bad for loving the boy’s submit yourself to me villain number the most in a girl power lover yourself movie….howver I can’t help it being the best
2. Takedown- It’s use in the story is just so so good and it’s such a fun song too.
3. Golden- I don’t think there’s anything I can say about it that hasn’t already been said
4. How It’s Done- Such a good setup for the characters, like fr the intro really did do an Amazing job (also like did anyone else notice how when introducing Huntrix and the Saja Boys to us they placed their names on them prominently during a scene?? Huntrix with their ramen cups, and the Saja Boys with their bibs. Genuinely so smart and great cause I would Never remember the Saja Boys names without that)
5. Free- I like it, however I hated how it was the only non diegetic song. Like it happens around the time Rumi and Mira fight and a focal point of the fight is Rumi struggling with the lyrics to Takedown and wanting to change it and like there’s emphasis placed on how Takedown took time and effort to write and then Rumi and Jinu just freestyle a duet??
6. What It Sounds Like- I kind of felt like the song sort of just…spawned into existence with little build up, and the song itself is kinda just okay (I will say though it’s the one that gets stuck in my head the most)
7. Soda Pop- When I originally ranked the songs I actually just forgot of Soda Pop’s existence so basically I just found it forgettable. I also had a really hard time discerning the lyrics when I first watched the movie
2, 3, 4 and kind of just be freely swapped around tbh
Lost in starlight is my movie of the year
So far, the 𝗞𝗣𝗢𝗣 𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗡 𝗛𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦 Soundtrack has
*𝘿𝙤𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙢 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙨
*5 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙢𝙮 𝙉𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨
*"𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙣" 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙘𝙮'𝙨 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙨𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘿𝙖𝙮 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙚
And with a very possible 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, this global phenomenon isn't going anywhere just yet.
23:20 “how it’s done” gave me chills the first time i heard it like THIS IS HOW YOU OPEN A MOVIE
"Golden" and "Your Idol" are my top one, can't decide which I like more.
But I will admit that "Heals, nails, blade, mascara, fit check for my napalm era" scratches something in my brain I didn't even know was itchy.
13:28 SOMEONE ELSE SAYS IT I went on a whole rant about this after watching the movie and everyone acted like I was crazy
While I agree that what it sounds like is weaker musically, it’s also the only song on the soundtrack that makes me cry and that automatically makes it #1 in my book
I will say, I wonder if anyone else shares my sort of mental visual with Takedown.
Basically, it's Rumis mentality. By the time of the bridge, you can almost visualize the hell she's going through slamming closer and closer until at the very end, you feel the break.
11:54 the bottom song is my favorite, you monster
pls make a review of the actual movie!!!!
18:50 Gorillaz is my fave and ye DONT say that 😂
I personally love "What it sounds like" but I agree that it's down at the bottom. However, I appreciate that the song is basic. It's so simple because I think they wanted to make an easy song to sing along to while watching it so you're part of the chorus.
15:46 let’s be honest… Gwi-ma created kidz bop.
WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE IS MY FAVORITE ONEEEE
I think it says a lot about the overall quality of the songs in this movie that the weakest ones still have plenty of praise directed to them and would still be listened to outside of watching the movie
I know this is definitely gonna piss me off because I'm the only person alive with correct musical opinions but I'm gonna watch this anyways 🔥🔥
Edit: Nevermind this list is perfect, carry on!
Bro Free is literally my favorite song from the movie, buddy just SLAMMED it
I keep on listening to take down and golden all the time but I never really gave your idol a chance I don't know why but since it came second place in your video I think I might give it's more of a chance and tell you how I feel about it
Schaffrilla mentioning how the lyrics to Soda Pop were intentionally shallow was confirmed by the director saying that it was to contrast the songs sung by Huntrix whose have deeper meaning to them. Whereas Saja Boys's lyrics were just been to be surface level since they dont actually care about the music and just want to lure people in with the catchy tunes
What it Sounds LIKE has Korean lyrics sung by the choir in the last verse. you hear it better in the Acapella version.
For me
# 1 what it souds like
#2 free
3# ur idol
4# how is done
5. Takedown
6. Soda pop
7. Golden
What it sounds like #7 is crazy
25:06 Mira’s the favorite for me. Literally hardest hitting line. I play as her in Fortnite 😂
You are not a crab? Unsubscribed.
What frustrates me about basically all the Huntrix songs besides How It’s Done is that Mira and Zoey get one line each and then you can’t hear them during the chorus. This is illustrated perfectly when, in the staged performance of Golden, THEY LEAVE THE STAGE AND TURN THEIR MICS OFF. Give them more lines! Incorporate their voices!! How It Sounds Like is amazing at the very start. That harmony? Amazing. THEY DROP THE HARMONY IN THE CHORUS. You can’t sing “darkness and harmony” without having a harmony. Again, you can’t hear them singing during the chorus, so it’s really silly to see their mouths moving and it’s only Rumi’s voice coming out. Maybe I could deal if it was like… Golden is so Rumi-heavy because she’s the star and all the pressure is on her… they cannot perform the song without her because it’s 99% her… but then the final song should incorporate more of Mira and Zoey’s vocals! This is why How It’s Done is the best song, Mira and Zoey actually get to sing in it.
I'd rank the songs the same as you did, but I would switch places with the bottom two
schaffrillas is one of the only creators that makes me wish I could like the same video twice
19:01 Girl Sinners released this year 😭
For my ranking( not saying yours is bad) is:
7.what it sounds like
6.free
5.takedown
4.Soda pop
3.how it's done
2.golden
1.your idol
As a huge Prince fan, I have found What It Sounds Like to be by far my favorite. Prince embodied efficiency and emotion, often mixing in first takes of instrumentals or vocals because it kept emotion and allowed him to rapid fire singles and albums. I find What It Sounds Like to scratch that same itch. Maybe there's something that explains it in a literal sense I'm unaware of but it feels the most 'real' or 'raw' if that makes sense.
If you want to know my list
Take down
Your idol
How it's done
soda pop
This is what it sounds like
7:35 twenty one pilots?
I was listening to the radio in the car the other day, and I heard Golden come on. I almost skipped that radio station but came back to check if I really just heard a K-Pop Demon Hunters song on the radio.
I legit might be the only person on this planet who doesnt get the Your Idol hype at all
7- soda pop
6- free
5- takedown
4- how it’s done
3- your idol
2- golden
1- what it sounds like.
How it sounds like, is my favoritt song 😅
