My parents split up in 1981, when I was 9 years old. A few years before that, I remember my mom putting one on the top shelf of my closet and I was afraid to ne anywhere near my closet until it was removed. To this day, I wont be anywhere near one.

I never played with them. Mom forbade it. She said that her mom dabbled and that many of her friends messed with it. But it made her very uncomfortable. She wouldn't allow them into her home. And she made a point to emphasize that she was trusting us to not mess with them, even if everyone else was.
