I have a fairly cheap 4k Phillips TV, & the HDR looks great. Looks nothing like this.
Depending on your monitor
Botton uses wider gamut than sRGB resulting in oversaturated inaccurate colors. This guy either didn’t know this since most displays use this by default or he did and deliberately used this to boost engagement in the comments which is what I suspect he did. HDR will always look better if implemented correctly. Also some displays will claim HDR compatible, but unless they are OLED or mini led they are lying and will not get you a proper HDR experience.
HDR will only look good on mid to high end monitors/TVs and AFTER proper setup in your console and TV. Most people who have a problem with HDR either have it setup wrong on their system, setup wrong on their TV, or both. OR have a monitor/TV that either isn’t capable of the color range, the peak brightness, or lacking in both. When it’s good implementation on a solid setup, SDR doesn’t stand a chance. PERIOD.
I just discoverd that Windows 11 now has a calibration utility included for HDR. Works great.
looking at hdr on my shit phone
Of course. What else?
This clip has 0% real information.
Also recording hdr with camera in sdr and then uploading it in sdr, gives 0% real info. This clip is useless.
Downvote for lying or twlling half truths
If your hdr looks that dim it’s because you display can’t actually get bright enough to display HDR. A lot of cheap TVs support hdr but can’t display it correctly. But a mid range Sony and go away with this nonsense
Which is better HDR capable mini led or Non HDR OLED? i only play Single player
Completely misleading for no reason, like do you not have anything better to do man?
My hdr looks like the off one.. lmfao
Buddy is onto nothing
HDR on, on monitors that don't support HDR correctly looks absolutely horrible.
Dam the click bait start of the video backfired on u didn't ha 😂
??? the clip isnt hdr how could I
they are both in SDR lol
This video is idiotic, and hurting more than helping explain what HDR is. Seriously, what a god awful representation of HDR, so full of misinformation.
am i the only one that thinks hdr on looks worse than hdr off?
Not all HDR is equal, some implementation's of it are better than others.
Some games can look amazing, but I have seen many where it realy doesn't.
Typically dolby vision for gaming is why.
If your hdr looks like THAT then you calibrated it wrong
If you want to compare the 2, you need to actually record in hdr and output that on youtube. We are only seeing sdr vs sdr here. Completely pointless video
Could figure out why my brand new monitor looked so bad and then figured out HDR was on in my windows settings
bottom clip looks like unicorn pee
Wow, never heard so much BS in such a short time xD for god's sake please avoid this guy's content as he clearly has no idea what is he talking about.
Renodx will fix it now.
British people claim they speak true english, then say shit like "H8chDR"
don't like HDR cuz it's reduce colournes and image looks poor after i am toggle it on
So this thing not worth it
YOU CANT DEMONSTRATE HDR IN SDR VIDEO BRUH
The problem with HDR is that it’s not a standardized technology and it relies on game developers properly implementing the tech, which usually doesn’t happen.
I just leave it off it’s a hassle to calibrate for every single game
hdr is so overhyped. just get an oled at that point. you can get that perfect light and dark balance plus whatever else you want without the hassle.
You setting are f-ed up. HDR looks incredible. Has 1000x more color space 1024 x 1024 x 1024 vs 256 x 256 x 256. It is your shitty monitor not hdr. Buy OLED.
Yeah, I like HDR for consuming media like movies or shows, but gaming I prefer the higher vibrancy
You can't simply turn HDR on, you will want to adjust your TV as well. Otherwise it will look like you slid the gamma correction all the way to the left.
You must not know how to setup HDR, because my games A LOT better with HDR on…
hdr is crap
this looks more like a tn panel vs ips panel
You must have a crappy hdr display if your hdr looks like that.
Yea nice try but hdr off and on doesn't look like that. My OLED looks way better with HDR on
