😎👍 If it's of interest, that special effect you're seeing at 40:22 was first used by Alfred Hitchcock in the 1957 movie, "Vertigo." It's achieved by rolling the camera backwards while simultaneously elongating it's telescopic lens forward. 👻
How many uncles does this kid have? 😅
The national anthem in the beginning.. Back in the day the TV used to 'turn off" and when you heard the Anthem your tv watching was done for the night once it ended.
May i suggest the movie "Time Bandits" whenever you guys get around to it.😊
I watched this at Js age. I’m still haunted by it 40 years later. You’re brave J
15:13 Ghostbusters
Great reactions. Keep it up!
In the beginning when he asks If this is scary and you said not really I chuckled a bit. I love to see the transformation in your reaction.
I love seeing a new generation getting into this movie, first time i saw it was when it came out on TV, around 86/87 I was 7 or 8 at the time and LOVED it, the 2nd one freaked me out more with Cain, he just icked me
also i love how your kid can see and tie together where references to new movies and shows come from and how open minded he is to older films! def subscribing now!
You should see part 2. A truly under appreciated sequel. It went in interesting new directions while keeping to the original lore.
The dead canary really matches the bathroom decor. Now that’s good production design!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
3:15 Yh I remember when we had 4 channels in the UK and at a certain time they went off. and u had to manual tune a channel in
Awesome reactions , I saw it also when I was about 10 yo. The clown under the bed still gets me , ok its October how about doing the animated film (COCO). Its about the day of the dead, Hispanic and Mexican family s day to remember our loved ones that have passed away, I know you guys would enjoy it , 😊
I've been terrified of clowns my entire life. Why? LOOK AT THEM!

Back then the tv stations would literally run out of programming material to broadcast so they would just power off after midnight. We all became accustomed to the hiss of universal background radiation through the tv and radio. It's like the ocean.
43:27 "Unless it continues in that house." Yes, their next house is haunted as well! The sequel is very underrated. The third film is just OK and focuses only on Carol Anne who moves to the famous John Hancock Tower in Chicago which is only haunted because the villain from the second film is following her.
classic movie.
is you want another kid perspective horror film, i recommend "The Gate" and "Lady in White"
and of course "Monster Squad"
Have you considered showing your son "Young Sherlock Holmes" or "Return to Oz"? Two great films from the 1980s that were made for kids (teenagers) but then were castigated for being far too scary. They both subsequently became cult classics. As for next week's film, I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess Cujo (can't think of any other killer with four legs).
Great reaction! Poltergeist 2 was a great sequel. Same family and main characters involved and continues the storyline well.
I live in Northern Virginia where about 20% of the suburbs had old slave cemeteries which had to be relocated. What's really amazing is how this continues to go on without almost any press coverage. In many cases they just leave them in place because it's cheaper and the cemetery is just part of the HOA (home owners' association) common ground. There aren't any headstones or markers indicating it's burial ground because the original headstones were just wood.
Great Reaction!! Hope you had the best birthday 🎂 😊
I watched this at the neighbor’s house with a bunch of friends when I was ten years old. My family heard all us girls screaming from next door! lol
"The Gate" is a great gateway movie for kids into horror, it's in that Gremlins Goldilocks zone, maybe next year perhaps?
If you remember this was the movie Joyce bought tickets for so Will could see the movie in a flashback to his Castle Byers in Stranger Things Season One. Feliz Cumpleaños!🎉🎈🎊🎁🎂🪅☮️🇬🇧🇺🇸
The tree grabbing the boy was just a distraction for them to get the girl. The boy was never their target
Dominique Dunne who played the older sister was murdered by her ex boyfriend and Heather O’Rorke who played the youngest daughter died of kidney disease as a child. Sad all thecway round.
He is getting so big!!! Happy birthday. This movie was my fave and I saw it at to young. 😂
Seems like every movie has a character that looks like an uncle. 😂
18:47 The paranormal investigators here probably did inspire something for 'Ghostbusters.' The screenplay was somewhat inspired by the sitcom 'The Ghost Busters' which was also about paranormal exterminators but other than that and the title had no relation to the movie, and the horror film 'The Asphyx' about Victorian photographers trapping death itself which clearly inspired the actual ghost catching scenes.
Hey D&J! 🥳 Happiest of Birthdays, J! Another great reaction to a great movie. I’ve always loved the actress Zelda R that plays the psychic medium Tangina. The way she gives her “Let’s go get your daughter” monologue in her whispery, ASMR-type voice really works in the scene because it draws you in to pay attention to both the hope of getting Carol Anne back 👧🏼📿🎾 as well as the dangers of The Beast. 🚫💀 Plus, who amongst us hasn’t vacuumed and mopped the floor, only to dramatically say, “This house…is clean.” 😏 Zelda also had a bit part in the funny movie “Sixteen Candles” as the church organist with the squeaky shoes. 👵🏻👡👡
Have a great weekend! Christine in currently cloudy Colorado 🌥️
Happy birthday Sunshine 😊
26:02 Hashbrown?? I was eating toast and just about choked. Did you mean Hashtag? 😂 Also, 42:18 that big ole hickey on her neck always cracks me up! Great reactions guys & Happy Birthday, J!!
Happy Birthday, Jay.🎉🎂
