The Dark Life of Vietnam Door Gunner

The Dark Life of Vietnam Door Gunner
If you look at old footage of Vietnam, you’ll see the doors of the Huey wide open and a soldier tightly holding a machine gun. They looked calm and collected, but you can see in their eyes that these men had been through the horrors of war. Today, you’re going to see just how dangerous their job in Vietnam really was, and why they still had to do it no matter what.

Fun fact some of the gunners would shoot innocent people & fisherman for target practice.
Crazy what the United States of Israel did and is doing to its people and people from opposite sides of the world…SHAME
My uncle was not a door gunner believe it or not.
Also didn’t help that the Vietnamese had ZSU-57-2s, which even with a single shell would annihilate the helis
11:42 they had so much adrenaline they probably didn’t feel a thing
Why didn’t they have armor?
Acho q terrível era a vida dos camponeses lá em baixo sendo queimados vivos pelos terroristas americanos mas eu só acho kkk
I was door gunner on Space Shuttle Endeavour.
Jesus is the Son of God who came in the flesh through Mary who was a virgin who conceived by God. God is Love. Jesus obeyed God and did nothing wrong. Jesus cast out devils, raised the dead and healed people. Jesus did miracles, signs and wonders. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that anyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. Jesus was scourged so that we could be healed. Jesus was crucified on a wooden cross so that the curse of the Law would be taken away. Jesus died. Jesus’ Blood was shed so that we could be forgiven. Jesus’ Body was placed in a tomb. God resurrected Jesus to Life on the third day, like Jesus prophesied. Jesus left the tomb. Jesus was seen by Mary Magdalene and other women. Jesus was seen by Peter, the twelve, over 500 brethren at once, James, all the apostles and Paul. Jesus was seen, talked with, and touched and gave many proofs that He was alive for 40 days. Then Jesus ascended to heaven and sat down on the right hand of God. Jesus Christ is Lord. Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. God loves people. Read the New Testament to find out about Jesus.

I thought Mel Gibson in We Were Soldiers did a good job of showing the Hueys and how those helicopters operated in early Vietnam.

Thank you Vietnam veterans!!!
I know two men who were door gunners. The first is my friend's dad. He has a few screws loose. He has never talked about what he saw or did.
The 2nd was an acquaintance of my dad's. He was also a bit crazy and self destructive. He openly talked about shit he saw and did. From strafing women and children villagers suspected of housing the VC, to bringing vietnamese people in the chopper to interrogate and then throwing them out of the chopper from way up in the air.
And at the end USA have lost this war
Apocalypse Now redux, Woman and children first

Anyone who runs is a V.C. Anyone who stands still is a well-disciplined V.C.
A Door gunner went to my gym, and still goes everyday. Was shot a total of 8 times serving in Vietnam, and suffers from seizures but it doesn’t stop him from putting in the work.
