The skeleton remains in the end were real… they were touched up by the special FX department though.
Such a fun reaction! If you like haunted house flicks, you MUST check out The Amityville Horror from 1979, The Changeling from 1980, and The Others from 2000! You two should check out the classic 80's werewolf movies The Howling and An American Werewolf in London (if you haven't already!), plus don't forget Friday the 13th Part 2!
Also watch documentary on this girls crazies wied real stuff happed to actors and little girl died mysteries after rd movie and real sceliton used in pooll?!??
2nd movie even beter 3 rd garbage can and ingrew uo seeing scared me to death
Best most wholesome add read EVER! I love you ladies I am feeling particularly black pilled today and see your poltergeist upload and not only is a reaction from totally whatever just what the doctor ordered but you do the most genuine add I've seen on YouTube, fair play fair play:)
That was fun. I saw this in my feed and clicked on it quick!❤
Fun fact: the skeletons were real. It would have cost a fortune to make fake ones and Spielberg wasn’t satisfied with the look of a sample of the synthetic ones, so they used real donated skeletons and the effects team placed synthetic decayed flesh, and hair, and they didn’t tell JoBeth that the corpse soup she’d be swimming in was with real skeletons. They told her after the scene was finished.
The rumor going around was that the set was cursed because of it, and it contributed to Heather O’Rourke and Dominique Dunne’s untimely deaths, and supposedly JoBeth and Craig’s careers tanked, but that is not true. It’s not like they took corpses from a cemetery, the skeletons were from people who chose to donate their bodies to science. Medical students learned anatomy from the cadavers, and after they no longer served in that capacity, the skeletons were cleaned of tissue and wired together for skeletal anatomy use. I’m sure they didn’t expect their skeletons to be in a movie, but I doubt they would have been too offended by it, or have had any way to curse anyone.
Yes. Back in the day T.V. channels used to go off the air about 3or4 in the morning to kinda reset programming. Then come back on in a couple of hours. You " kids " what it was like back then. Love, love, love you two. Great reactions.
Movie was rated PG back then so all of us kids watched it. That clown is why my bed is on the floor and I keep my feet tucked in so I don't hang them off the bed. Nothing is grabbing me from under the bed.
Real Corpses were used. The sad thing is, the girl that played
The sister the older one, she was unalived by her then boyfriend.
Thanks girls. Rekindled my child hood traumas 😂😂
others have said it, but I'll add a few thoughts – they're just normal family. Quirky, sure. Not perfect, but loving and trying hard. And they are very much "real world" people dumped into a very strange and otherworldly situation. They don't always do the right thing, they panic, they think things are over when they are clearly NOT – the way any of us want the "bad thing" to be over.. To me that really makes the movie work, just people, doing their best for their loved ones.
The goop is ectoplasm, the same ghostly material that shows up in Ghostbusters.
the 2 winds was explained in Charmed when Prus's essence followed by the horseman;s went throu the manor. BTW the science is wrong there Static has a limited range and at best you can pick up a radio station but outer space??? IMPOSSIBLE. Test patterns have more range and even that is limited
Poltergeist 2: the other side is a bit underrated. It has some solid creepy moments. Its worth checking out.
Wanna c a scary flick? (maybe not)
THE ENTITY (1982) based on true events
– Barbara Hershey
– Ron Silver
Yes yes, can't wait for Nanette jump scares 😂.
Thank you.
May be I am old, but the effects in this movie still seem convincing to me. If you are interested there are videos about the making of Poltergeist, and how the special effects shots were achieved. One that always impressed me was how the house was crumpled up and sucked away in a burst of light.
Saw this movie as a kid the face tearing scene still haunts me too this day big thumbs up from ian
I've always enjoyed the concept of you two doing this from afar. But it should be a special when you are actually in the same room because the chemistry is just great! Especially doing an ad like that. I guess it's like skyping your family at christmas – "It's just not the same". Love your videos! I truly hope you haven't watched Titanic, Gladiator or Back to the Future yet. Because that would be great reactions!
Poltergeist 2 is a blast!
Always great to see the ladies do horror. Looking forward to "IT" 😉
VFX by a fledgling Industrial Light & Magic studio (Star Wars), directed by Tobe Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) who used real skeletons in the pool scene (and did not tell the actress !)
This was released as a PG in America !
Movie suggestion – "The Shining" (1980).
Hey girls! I watched this movie in the theater about 2 months before my 10th birthday. My parents took me & my younger brother because it was rated-PG.😄 It didn't really scare me, except for that stinking clown when it suddenly appeared & attacked. I was glad Robbie tore out its stuffing. In my little kid mind that meant he killed it, so nothing to worry about anymore. Thing was, back then, I wasn't afraid of clowns. Heck, I used to sleep w/my Bozo the Clown ventrilaquist dummy next to me every night for about 2 yrs.
I'm sure it's already been mentioned, but I'm gonna say it anyway. They used real skeletons in the pool scene & the ones popping up in coffins, they just didn't tell the actors while filming. It was because medical skeletons were cheaper than making plastic ones.
They say there's a Poltergeist curse because there was a death during or shortly after each movie, besides mishaps on set. Dominique Dunne that played the older sister, "Dana", was murdered by her ex-boyfriend a few months after the theatrical release of this movie. 2 actors. Julian Beck &Will Sampson died shortly after Poltergeist II. Their deaths weren't unexpected Beck had been diagnosed w/cancer a few years before filming & Sampson died from an attempted lung & heart transplant which had a low survival rate. I believe the saddest of the deaths, at least for me, is that of "Carole Anne" actress Heather O'Rourke during the filming of Poltergeist III. It was due to her being misdiagnosed w/Crohn's disease, but in actuality she had an intestinal abnormality which caused a blockage in the intestine. She died during emergency surgery to remove the blockage. If she were alive now, she'd be the same age as my younger brother.
Have either of u gals experienced anything paranormal? I have from childhood to adulthood. Now, that I'm older, it doesn't happen as often. But, when I was a kid & in my 20's all kinds of supernatural or paranormal stuff happened to me.😩
Well, I'll finish up by saying I really liked your reaction.😊
– Anyone see the reboot with Sam Rockwell from 10(?) yrs back? Was it worth a watch?
– Who goes into someone else’s fridge and just PRESUMES to eat a steak without asking. THAT’s why the ghosts went after him! Bad manners… THAT’s the real horror of this movie 😂
– That psychologist woman is the MVP. She IMMEDIATELY acknowledges that she’s under-qualified to help, but even though she’s terrified, not only does she stay anyway, she brings in an expert.
Back then TV remotes weren’t electronic. They simply had different length spring and when flicked, made a fairly high pitch sound. Doubt it would work like that from house to house. I used to fight with my cousins for control of the TV by shaking keys.
Those were real people in that pool scene at the end. 😳
I feel sorry for young fans who don't get the thrill of experiencing an intense movie like this in a theater with 200 or 300 other people. It's a totally different vibe than watching on video. I saw this in the theater when it came out and people applauded at the end.
A proper mega-budget ghost-train thrill-ride effects-heavy horror movie. They don't make them like this any more.
OK this is a first. I've never seen MEAT censored before. yt really letting their jewish side show I am guessing. WTF Seriously?? Meat has to get censored?? FKN W E I R D!!
Ah heaven, so……amusing.
I saw this at Winnetka Drive-in
The Poltergeist Curse
Dominique Dunn – Killed by her ex-boyfriend 1982
Heather O'Rourke – Died from an undiagnosed congenital intestinal abnormality 1987
Two other actors died after appearing in Poltergeist II.
Could you speak louder in your next reaction? Thanks in advance.
The reason the ghosts only target the Freeling family and dont bother the neighbors is because they were building the first swimming pool in the neighborhood . As soon as they broke ground, the spirits began retaliating.
the short spirit lady appears in 16 candles
I saw this when I was just 11 years old.. and it was that freaking clown that totally shook me in that scene. I hated that my mother was collecting them at the time too… sleepless nights
