Who’s messing with the kitchen chairs? | Poltergeist (1982) | Warner Bros. UK

A typical family in a quiet suburb of a normal California faces a frightening ordeal when its home is invaded by a Poltergeist. Late one night, 10-year-old Carol Anne Freeling (Heather O’Rourke) hears a voice coming from inside the television set … At first, the spirits that invade the Freeling’s home seem like playful children. But then they turn angry. And when Carol Anne is pulled from this world into another, Steve and Diane Freeling (Craig T. Nelson and JoBeth Williams–In the Land of Women) turn to an exorcist (Zelda Rubinstein) in this horror classic from director Tobe Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre films) and producer and screenwriter Steven Spielberg.

The Quaker oatmeal guy was terrifying
Now that Im older….I realize how hot the mom was.
This woman is superfine
Je rêve de revoir le film ❤
The kitchen scene in The Sixth Sense was a virtual rip-off of this scene.
i wanna watch that film now
This movie scared me so much when I was a kid

Once again rest in peace Tobe Hooper he was a brilliant brilliant man when it came down to horror films he was on a whole another plateau that's why I consider him more than likely he was an occultist just like me
So I heard for the seen the people who actually stacked the chairs had like less than 5 seconds to do this scene or something along those lines so less than a minute and a half to perform the the app and then from there stacking the chairs I think it was less than 20 seconds or 15 seconds so whoever did this practical effect they're they're literally like on God like status
In the making of this movie production team had real paranormal experiences on set facts.
Something about a plant movie when the crew change the chairs. I can’t see it myself. It’s the one in the far left that’s tooked behind the door way
How did they do that trick?
Classic and one of the best horror movies of all time!
Dang, 38yo Craig T Nelson's a pretty hot lookin dad here.
I always thought my DVD had a defect causing that smash city at 6:39
I wonder why there are 5 members of the Freling family, but there are 6 chairs at the table. Is it to symbolize another entity in the house? Or the chair stacking was better with 6?
Adam the woo brought me here 😢
There's no 'yellow pages' anymore anyway so it's pointless looking for the strange phenomenon section in there.
Just take the Internet instead I'm seeing a lot of strange phenomenon on YouTube just lately. Usually uploaded yesterday btw.
Had to come look at this scene after noticing that the Wheelers (Stranger things) have a nearly identical set up. Same chairs and everything.
Dang. Just noticed that they cropped-out the plants getting disturbed while the swap happens – you used to be able to see them shaking as the camera pans away following JoBeth Williams. Shame. They fixed a bunch of gaffs for this new 4K restoration including the dog trainer that's visible behind the door in the opening of the movie. Which is fine, I guess. Used to be fun spotting them, though.
To be fair that’s quite impressive – an attractive chair display, it’s hardly scary. Perhaps these TV people aren’t so bad after all.
JoBeth Williams can be my mommy any day.
One team runs in and removes the chairs. While Another team is on standby with the already assembled chairs. Very simple yet so effective !
Comendo com a colher que esta na panela, vai azedar
Fathers watching this scene wished their wives looked like Jobeth in those shorts
You know, Tron came out that year. July 10th, I believe.
What is the movie ame
😊
One of the scariest scenes in any horror movie for me. What ever stacked the chairs is obviously intelligent and non-human. It's scary without needing any creepy visuals like monsters or ghosts.
I love this movie. This house is clean
How did they do this scene? It’s a continuous shot? I love this movie.
I’m moving. End of movie.
❤❤❤ Thank you for being ❤❤❤
I love this movie
I think Craig T. Nelson is a hunk. What other dudes agree with me?
Do animals really have the ability to see things we humans do not? 🤔🙄 🙏❤️🇬🇧 Nov twenty ✨️ five ✨️
My Dad took me to see this in the theatres when I was about 11 years old, when we got out of the movie there was a nasty South Florida thunderstorm that hit and lasted the whole drive home and the first half hour after we got home and all I could think about was the storm scene at the end of this movie, I got more freaked out by the storm than the movie itself
This House is clean
I was 11 at the time I saw this in the theater and I screamed like a little girl when the big head came out of the closet.
2:16 Goldsmith is a genius!!!
Roughly 6 seconds from the last view of the normal chairs to be changed for the stack on the table ? How is that possible ?
