Who’s messing with the kitchen chairs? | Poltergeist (1982) | Warner Bros. UK

A typical family in a quiet suburb of a normal California faces a frightening ordeal when its home is invaded by a Poltergeist. Late one night, 10-year-old Carol Anne Freeling (Heather O’Rourke) hears a voice coming from inside the television set … At first, the spirits that invade the Freeling’s home seem like playful children. But then they turn angry. And when Carol Anne is pulled from this world into another, Steve and Diane Freeling (Craig T. Nelson and JoBeth Williams–In the Land of Women) turn to an exorcist (Zelda Rubinstein) in this horror classic from director Tobe Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre films) and producer and screenwriter Steven Spielberg.

Price? $0 of course. Welcome to the INTERNET.

  2. Once again rest in peace Tobe Hooper he was a brilliant brilliant man when it came down to horror films he was on a whole another plateau that's why I consider him more than likely he was an occultist just like me

  3. So I heard for the seen the people who actually stacked the chairs had like less than 5 seconds to do this scene or something along those lines so less than a minute and a half to perform the the app and then from there stacking the chairs I think it was less than 20 seconds or 15 seconds so whoever did this practical effect they're they're literally like on God like status

  4. I wonder why there are 5 members of the Freling family, but there are 6 chairs at the table. Is it to symbolize another entity in the house? Or the chair stacking was better with 6?

  5. There's no 'yellow pages' anymore anyway so it's pointless looking for the strange phenomenon section in there.
Just take the Internet instead I'm seeing a lot of strange phenomenon on YouTube just lately. Usually uploaded yesterday btw.

  6. Dang. Just noticed that they cropped-out the plants getting disturbed while the swap happens – you used to be able to see them shaking as the camera pans away following JoBeth Williams. Shame. They fixed a bunch of gaffs for this new 4K restoration including the dog trainer that's visible behind the door in the opening of the movie. Which is fine, I guess. Used to be fun spotting them, though.

  7. My Dad took me to see this in the theatres when I was about 11 years old, when we got out of the movie there was a nasty South Florida thunderstorm that hit and lasted the whole drive home and the first half hour after we got home and all I could think about was the storm scene at the end of this movie, I got more freaked out by the storm than the movie itself
