Poltergeist II: The Other Side

This effects-heavy installment is the inevitable sequel to one of the more effectively spooky and financially successful horror films of the ’80s. The Freeling family is trying to grapple with the devastation wrought by the ghosts and ghouls that destroyed their lives. Steve (Craig T. Nelson), Diane (JoBeth Williams), and their kids, Carol Anne (Heather O’Rourke) and Robbie (Oliver Robins), have been reduced to living in the home of Diane’s mother, Jess (Geraldine Fitzgerald) because the insurance company refuses to believe what happened to their house. The Freelings are unfortunately unable to escape patches of unholy ground living in a house that is just as haunted as the last. The evil spirit of the mad cult leader Kane (Julian Beck) has returned in an effort to kidnap Carol Anne. After realizing what’s happening, the Freelings call upon the psychic medium Tangina Barrons (Zelda Rubinstein) for help, and are aided by a benevolent Native American spiritualist, Taylor (Will Sampson).

  1. This one is very underrated and deserves more credit. Only a few can pull off sequels. Terrifier actually the whole franchise is amazing. But that’s rare. But this pulled off 1 and 2 for being ahead of its time. With special effects and makeup

  2. The dad is totally traumatized by the television set. Shouldn't the kids be traumatized by their toys? Can you imagine being a kid and going through what they went through in the first movie?

  3. So both Taylor and Tangina left them by themselves and didn't stay. So NO ONE there to protect any of the family. We can see what happens when they did leave. "Really Dumb move" !!!
I guess that is one way to make them leave to go back to where their 1st home used to be at.
Scare everyone to almost death again. Torture the family/kids more and more!

  4. They must of just released this on YouTube because when you go and look up the first and the second one on Google where to find this movie for free and doesn’t say it. Just interesting how this is actually being shown for free or not on a subscription.

  5. @20.35 – One has to wonder when Carol Anne goes and kisses her grandma whose sleeping in her bed, is the grandma actually "dead" or just sleeping. Shortly after doing this, Carol Anne recieves a phone call on her toy phone from her grandma telling her to be be good. The next scene reveals the next morning in which the grandma has died. So was Carol Anne actually kissing a corpse when she kissed her grandma whose was lying in bed?
