  1. surely if something can avoid damage this well and map clear this easily whilst at range that must mean all classes can do that right? every archetype of classes correct? so melee must be amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Thank you for your guides man!! My monk was my first ranged character, then moved to warrior (following your guide) and I’m having a lot of fun with it! I’m hoping that they do buff or boost life or armor to feel tanky but none the less I’ll be following your guides in the future for PoE 2! o7

  3. Hey Woolie, couple of things.

I think Innervate is one of the best links for HoT. I also think your explanation of that link is a little too generous. To trigger that damage, we first must kill a target and acquire the damaging passive effect of HoT, then kill something with HoT. It does appear to be generous on that last point, because so long as the hit with HoT kills, Innervate will trigger instead of meticulously checking if the actual damage from HoT killed the target; either that or HoT is the very last thing to hit the target when an attack is made. I don't believe that second point is true, though, because if you're oneshotting white mobs without the HoT damage, you still spend HoT stacks when hitting them. It is a nit pick, but it's a mileage may vary sort of thing.

As for resistances on monsters. Debuffs SHOULD apply first. PoE 2 is still new, and riddle with bugs, but conductivity should reduce the enemy res first, then exposure will stack on top of that to further reduce res, then you penetrate the rest. So, say you have a boss with gold lightning res or something near 50% (it seems), conductivity (flat) will reduce that to 18%, exposure (flat) will reduce it further to -2%, and then penetration is useless. Penetration gets worse, and a curse + exposure get better, the lower and lower res the monster has. I've made a lot of assertions there, let me again reiterate that it SHOULD work like this, and not because that is my opinion but because that seems to be the order of operations and letter of rules.

  4. I'm more inclined to believe elemental curses like conductivity (and exposure too) apply before penetration, making pen effectively useless if target's res isn't positive after being reduced by the curse. I have no evidence of this other than the fact that you can see a monster's res symbols change when cursing them, which means their res is lowered before hitting them, and then you hit them with penetration which cannot go below 0.
