Wanted to quickly go over the now fully revealed witchhunter, the class has a lot of potential but cant say how good it’s going to be without playing the game.

Witchhunter is one of the 2 classes I'm deciding on for poe2, it certainly looks rather strong and I'm now definitely leaning towards this ascendancy after the reveal, hopefully we get all ascendancies revealed before launch. Either way witchhunter is looking really good.
EDIT: Updated wording on Weapon Master: https://i.imgur.com/EQZmheH.png

They changed the wording on weapon master. It's now "20 Passive Skill Points become weapon set skill points".
How the hell will anyone take the weapon skillpoints while leveling? It's like impossible to take that as your first ascendancy if you need 20 unspent talent points to be able to click that node and have them convert, right? That's just insane
I am so confused, i think every node is great, wanna start witch hunter, which nodes in ascendancy should i use?
HeyGuys
Hmm what if you go all in on damage with a crossbow and then have a melee shield switch which goes all in on defense and shield nodes, with the new shield that can block any attack. As soon as you click raise shield, your entire tree transforms into a giga defensive shield setup and while attacking with cluster grenades and stuff you have a hyper damage focused cbow setup.
If they let us do 100% conversion for phys to X ele like they used to in POE 1, then sorc ward would be OP af.
1:00 i wouldn't say its converting existing it says "grants" so its 20 extra points for weapon swap. BUT john did say you can use weapon swap skills for your normal passives but these i dont think qualify being that they're just calling it 'weapon set skill points' but we'll see
Its a nice global class, literally any skill can be used with this class. Spells, minions, attacks, whatever.
Does sorcery word take your res into account when calculating how much dmg it takes if it doesn’t. allowing you too forgo res could be interesting
Man i wanna play witch-hunter but I'm so afraid of being Squishy now that there's a lot more reason to NOT die.
I'll probably take Culling Strike, Decimating Strike, Witchbane, and Zealous Inquisition for general mapping. Then when Pinnacle Boss comes around, switch Zealous Inquisition for No Mercy.

how many ascendancy points do we get during campaing?
Where was this shown?
Decimating Strikes was exactly what I thought. It's the same as Culling but it's 5-30% and not 5-20%. Bosses will drop 5% instantly, then with Culling it'll die instantly at 5%.
Was it shown what exactly sorcery ward does?
I think the Merc will be a super strong class. The Gemling Leigionaire looks to me like you could use it with damn near any build and it will improve it.
really disappointed that decimating strike moved more up, surprisingly not a lot of comment about it!
Having culling strike on all skills, will make them all 7 links.
Will Warrior be able to have viable sword and shield build?
Witchbane + chill + temp chains seems potent
Culling strike means monsters in map clear faster! With full life knock could easily average out to -50% health for map mobs.
Nice video man, a lot of the ascendency nodes seem very interesting ,it's a shame since we won't be able to respec them that we won't be able to experiment with them as much, hopefully they change their mind and let us respec ascendency points like in POE1.
Decimating strike is actually stronger than 17.5% more damage because it's calculated differently, as an example if you removed 50% of the target's hp that would be doubling your dmg, not 50% more dmg.
It's hard to get the exact average cause it's not a linear formula but it goes from 5.55% more damage at minimum (0.95/0.9 because we can assume you have culling strike) and 46.15% at maximum (0.95/0.65).
Average should be around 23.66% more damage multiplier.
What happens with concerntration buff once you get it to 0? You keep attacking but it's at 0 so they're not losing concentration and as stated in the node "Enemies regain 10% of Concentration every second if they haven't lost concentration in the past 5 seconds" meaning the no mercy more damage is smaller than we all thought at first. Not that big of a deal but kinda is too… what do you think? Please let me know.
