Leeds Thackray Museum – UK’s Most HAUNTED Places (Real Paranormal)

The Thackray Medical Museum in Leeds sits in the old Union Workhouse building designed to house nearly 800 of the poorest people, who worked their short lives in harsh and terrible conditions.
It once housed the skeleton of the infamous Yorkshire witch, Mary Bateman!

Tale has it regarding Mary Bateman, her skeletal remains were on display in the museum, the notice advised not to take any pictures of the remains due to a curse that people have reported, unbeknown to me my wife took a picture of this, 1 month later on October 1th 2012 to be very precise, my daughter passed away, she was 22 years old, Katy my daughter had a ruptered spleen.

  3. I worked/work in buildings that are haunted, used to get a lot of paranormal activity at all times of the day/night, one building I used to enter and it felt like I didn’t belong there, feeling as if I was intruding on the past, had a feeling of being watched by unseen eyes, heard footsteps and disembodied voices, cold spots, dark shadows and even a full bodied apparition, it got that bad one day that it really freaked me out, as I said it would happen any time of the day and night

  4. I’ve lived in Leeds my entire life, some time temporarily in my childhood I use to live actually 20 minutes away from Thackray when in between houses. I remember that asking if it was actually true if it was haunted with obviously stories from ghost hunters like this and also neighbourhood kids trying to scare their friends by saying they saw dead children in the windows, saw “MARY” whoever the hell that was in the windows, factory women standing in the car park and disappearing or they followed you home and also shadows when fire lights were on after hours. A person whom was close to our family that worked there for a while whom now also work now at St James hospital , he said when locking up it proves all the set stories for what they are, which was to him at the time theories as he never ever saw anything, he said he even did a security duty which went in up to Maybe middle of the night and still nothing. Just to point out not going against anyone’s experiences of seeing them, but it’s kind of interesting to see what other experiences are told. As for me, been to the museum a lot aswell, great days out while being there and also use to at night be with other kids telling a these stories sitting outside the gate and fence of how they saw stuff yet I never saw anything ffs😂

But what a great video 😊 I like how you’ve learned a lot of history about the place, makes us Wessie folks so proud 💯
Should also check out Armley Mills museum in Leeds aswell, similar history yet with some telling architecture 🙂

  5. I came here with my school once in like year 6 and literally almost everyone was scared of the disease street area also there was like a room where it would doa a little show of what would happen with the doctors and patient and a bunch of them were scared of that aswell😂

  6. My mum worked in this building as a young nurse in the 70s. She said it was a creepy place to work. I have also visited the museum and it really is a fantastic place. Can't say I've ever seen anything myself!

  7. I believe there was a couple of outbreaks of cholera and the majority of the dead were buried at the Beckett street cemetery opposite the museum during the days when it was East Leeds workhouse

  8. Another great installment from the Ouija Bros. It is interesting to see glimpses of how things have progressed over the years. We don't realise how far modern medicine has come and for many that treatment is free. ❤️👀👻

  9. Just a thought whilst watching this.
Have you ever considered the possibly of animal souls and spirits? No one seems to talk about them. I only thought of it because of the slaughter industry shown in this video of animals. And wondered what it would be like if you were to go into an old abandoned slaughterhouse and if there would be many knocks and sounds. Perhaps sometimes those knocks and sounds are simply an animal spirit unable to communicate?

  10. We got to visit here back when I was in high school as part of GCSE history. Amazing building, super fascinating! I never knew it was haunted when we went but I felt really uncomfortable in parts of the building.
