Skyrim Build: The Witchhunter – Oblivion Class Restoration Project – Ordinator Edition

This video is part of a project to restore all 21 Oblivion classes in Skyrim using the Ordinator perk mod (plus other build-specific mods). Check out the whole playlist here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSyNz14wE4hAy44l66m-vvHCAMJYCJXTl

THE WITCHHUNTER makes short work of powerful necromancers and warlocks with their combination of conjured minions, destruction magic and bound bow. Without good armor or Alteration spells the Witchhunter is a bit squishy so keep your distance from hart-hitting opponents.

  1. Technically the Witch Hunter probably had the choice of summoning full set of bound armor for protection in oblivion, sense conjuration then was both use defense equally as offensive in the school. I guess Skyrim doesn't have bound armor as a spell to cast, rendering you very squishy as a whichhunter without mods, or chosing to wear physical armor.

  2. I’m actually deciding to homebrew this class. Instead of making this a pure magic build. I decided to let this character be a technological skilled character that uses technology to fight magic. With the use of dwarven canons with flintlock weapons mod to make the character able to use technology to fight magic. The only magic he uses are the trap runes and weapon conjuration side. And I would use clothing mods that make the person look like van helsing, hunter from bloodborne, or a Witcher.

  3. Witch hunter spells and prayers would work great its basically spells that go into the "powers" slot and act as like weapon buffs/enchantments Prayers act more like racial abilities most having a 1 day use.

So you want to make a paladin of some god that uses two handed and fire magic to smite bitches go for it.
You want to make some character that tries to appease all the deadra and uses their prayers like IOUs when things go bad? I honestly just mostly used it to have berserk on my drunk monk khajiit who murdered everything to death with flaming claw attacks and fire magics. If shit got bad or they just got sick of someones shit whats where berserk came in.

You can probably use it a lot of ways for a lot of builds but you do need a weapon in hand for spells to work.

  4. Really loving these class builds! They're introducing me to some really interesting playstyles.

I'm curious, which race did you choose for the Witchhunter and how do you choose which race to use for each build?

  5. Good work on this build my dude personaly i made slight alterations to it useing Lighting/wind as my prefrence over fire for destruction spells and along with the bound bow several enchanted bows and arrows bound bow with ordinator lasted me a good long time but i use the huntsman as my goto bow and made use of alchemy for more poisoned magi arrows kept conjuration like you did ( was brillient as hell) used cloths and armor spells along with Bandiliers to make it look like i was carrying more potions and posions over all i give your build a 9/10 not 100% a recreation of oblivions witch-hunter but DAMN close only thing missing was light armor use but you still get my Bad-ass Witch hunter award as well 😀 its nice to see someone makeing quality classes ima check your other builds out you got a good mind for builds keep it up my freind!

  6. I like your build. I went for a different route though for my witch hunter.
I used regular bows so that I could apply poison and took points in Alchemy to make better ones. Specked my archery for long range sniping; I didn't bother with the zoom-in perks. For destruction I used concentration spells for mid-to-close range, and went for shock just because I felt that it fit a mage killer more. My main defense is illusion spells, which saved me countless times. And for conjuration I focused more on raising corpses.
I also included Speechcraft, because I had to buy a lot of stuff and I RP him as a bounty hunter specializing in magic users. I gave him the wayfarers coat to give him that vagabond look. His backstory is that he's just some random schmuck that went to Skyrim for a bounty, got his papers stolen along the way, had to sneak in, and got caught in an ambush.

  7. late game I also like using a bow enchanted with shock damage and also my gear has 100% destruction reduction so I don't have to recharge it, shock damage is awesosme vs mages and even dragons (they can't shout without magicka lol)

  8. witch hunters and wizard slayers are similar but differ: wizard slayers cannot use magical items other than weapon or armor (no rings, potions, etc. only armor or weapon)

witch hunters will use magic to fight malevolent mages or "witches"
