Demonic possession is real. I’ve seen a documentary series about a group of young people and a large snack loving dog who drove around solving mysteries.

It's actually so much easier to quit all the vices when you know that God is real and Jesus is protecting.

I had a personal experience with demons during a sleep paralysis episode. I had been having horrible episodes of sleep paralysis nightly, during a particularly soul-crushing break-up with my ex-fiancee in which I took to vile pornography and misogyny (she left me to become a stripper and to seek a man on the "sugar baby" website called "seeking arrangements") to cope with the loss. I read in a conspiracy forum that sleep paralysis was "demons trying to enter my body" and that I could get rid of them by praying to Jesus Christ. I believed in God at this point, though I was previously an atheist. I still thought organized religion was ridiculous, so I just laughed it off.

I then had a sleep paralysis episode. I decided it was worth a shot. I recited the prayer "In the name of Jesus Christ, I…" and I never finished the prayer. I woke up immediately and didn't suffer another episode. After that I became Christian, and following more amazing experiences, chose the Greek Orthodox Church as my source of faith.

Thanks for this message, Fr Paul. I keep coming back to this video. Disney movies and themes have always been notoriously occult themed, even more so now. "Magic" is not a harmless plaything. Include Yoga, Eastern practices, Wicca, indigenous shamanism… We do well to keep children away from such things, as the darkness seeks them. Even as far back as the 1940s Disney produced Fantasia, featuring Mickey Mouse as a sorcerer's apprentice. Let's wake up! How in your face does it have to be? Christendom seems very asleep to these things. As someone who previously dabbled over a decade in these things via New Age, the effects have created difficulty in staying Orthodox. Lord, have mercy.

Jesus said that you cannot worship both God and Mammon, or serve two masters. Mammon would I believe have been considered a demonic entity by many Church Fathers and would represent earthly riches, wealth, possessions or security. When we give our lives to these desires, we are worshipping demons. Very clear in Scripture and the Church Fathers. Every Christian should have clarity on this issue and be seeking to live only for God. If we look like the culture around us, we need to ask questions as to whether we have indeed missed the high calling of following Christ

Really interesting stuff! I'm a paranormal investigator and a born again Christian that goes out to draw these spirits out from hiding. How do I strengthen my spiritual life to the point when I can repel the attacks after the investigations? Thanks!
