  4. I'll be wanting to try the compost brownie, though! I've heard of people adding marshmallows and pretzel sticks, but potato chips? That's an avenue I haven't seen before!

  8. How to make a brownie 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
    2 cups granulated sugar
    4 large eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
Optional: 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
    Instructions:
Preheat and Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 or 9×9 inch baking pan.
Melt Chocolate and Butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and chocolate together over low heat, stirring frequently. Alternatively, you can use a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval.
Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, beat the melted chocolate mixture, sugar, and eggs together until well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
Add Nuts (Optional): Gently fold in the chopped nuts, if using.
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are firm and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cool and Cut: Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

  9. oh man… that last one is uh… a huge nope from me. That's like the kind of brownie you get disappointed by when your mom says she got brownies and she'll be home in a bit, and then she gets home and its that.

  10. unfortunately with my current food situation i rely on boxed mix because doing brownie from scratch would dampen the resources i could spend on baking other stuff, like chocolate chip cookie dough to top the brownie. i think i might risk it all for the compost brownie, though.
