Well, actually she said that because if he destroyed the witch's heart he would die and she felt something for him (love or not, in the final cut of the movie they didn't include the kiss between them) and so she brought out the money thing to convince him.
I'm still hoping for a sequel with the original cast but i see that hard to happen at this point 😢
