  1. For those who are interested in books about Witch Hunters, there are the Robert E Howard stories about Solomon Kane, who was the inspiration for the Witch Hunters in Warhammer Fantasy. And in Warhammer Age Of Sigmar there are a few books featuring Witch Hunter Hanniver Toll.

  2. History with Warhammer:

28:35 The term 'Burgomeister' is derived from the Dutch 'Burgermeester' or German 'Burgermeister', the equivalant of a 'Mayor'. Usually an appointed position and not necesarry a noble title altough a nobleman could hold the position. The term litteraly translates to 'Citizen Master'. In the 17th centurary in the Netherlands this position was appointed by varying authorities such as local or provincial councils or by the 'Stadhouder' and was responsible for the day to day administration of a town or city. In modern times Burgermeesters are appointed by the Crown and ruling goverment altough usually based on the recommendation of the counties council. Currently the position can be described as being the public figurehead and 'teamleader' of the counties goverment. Speaking with residents, local instutions and authorities to help tackle pressing issues or envision the implementation of laws. Burgemeesters are usually members of political party however it is expected that they take a more neutral stance focussing on coöperation instead of the parties agenda.

  3. I stumbled across this, and I found it really interesting, New Sub! I thought Warhammer Fantasy got NUKED by Games Workshop, and no longer existed! So, as a result, I hardly know f%#@-all about it!🤣 Do you have a Playlist, so I can find out who these people actually are? And, who else would you suggest would be good? I have been in the "Lore Camp" of Warhammer 40k., for some time now.

  4. A burgomeaster or Burgomaster is like a mayor for a burg, a city with a wall around it. So yeah, think a noble who is aware they are a speck in compared to everything else like them but enough power to potentially be a dick about it.

  5. Tax on mutilated ears, in a society with dueling, brawls, various plagues, militia service etc…yea I can see a bunch of ex soldiers and peasants having injured ears and having to pay the tax

  6. Sigmar: Creates the Templars to hunt magic after nearly being driven crazy by magic.
Templars: Fights magic and goes crazy.
Sigmar: How could this have happened!?

  7. If I recall correctly is heavily implied that the meteor which destroyed Mordheim was Be'Lakor. He was also the leader of the cult of the damned (thaty why in Wh3 Be'Lakor has a rift to Mordheim). That's being said some of the Mordheim Lore was before 6 edition and how Be'Lakor fall in the age 1999 meanwhile has a duty crowning every ever chosen before Archaon is something I really don't know if it's explained somewhere.

  8. Matthias Thulman in the witch hunter books is great. It’s fun how honest he is. Just a genuine witch hunter who has faith in Sigmar and wants to do the right thing while still having the flaw of holding himself over the average person. Along with his surely body guard it was a fun series. The last book ends abruptly tho

  9. Witch Hunters: our favourite main characters. Their whole esthetic: with their hats, and rapiers and crossbows. Though I love Warhammer, I still learned quite a bit about the lore from this video. Thank you!

  10. Im sorry ratcatchers? That hunt skaven in the sewers? Is there actual lore on that or is that just a detail? If there is lore is there enough of it to make a video on it? Are they basically the same as the inquisition teams that get sent to the sewer levels of hive worlds in the darktide games? Something about that just struck me as very interesting.

  11. So, we almost had a Fantasy equivalent to the Sisters of Battle before the Witch hunters accused them of heresy, only to waste time, effort, and resources fighting an order of extremely devout worshippers of Sigmar…

…fuck them. You are not enduring me to these guys. That would've been a perfect entry point for me coming in from 40K.

  12. Burgermeister is basically the same thing as a Mayor. Just a Germanic form of the title. What that entitles depend of course depends on what sort of roll the Mayor has since it can be a largely ceremonial title, or pretty much the local lord of the town/city. This being Warhammer fantasy, I would say it quite a big deal being a Burgermeister.
