I wouldn't mind seeing the same people make a Conan the Barbarian type game like this.
The sake bottle locator trick isn't useful once you get echo location from listening by playing the main story. It's much easier to just clear the map fog yourself and find locations on your own than buy the maps early on. Most of the POIs can be found easily. Most of the shrines are tucked away in corners of each zone. Getting the Spider Lily armor to max by listening to the storyteller and completing the mysterious gate area, and leveling up the wolf skills makes the player OP early on.

My mistake was to go region by region and tick of every inch of it … while I should have made it a point of going after all weapons first! On my way to get the kusarigama, looks badass and seems to make multiple enemies encounters much easier while still fun 🫣

SP has delivered another awesome game, I'm still playing it, I like the variety of weapons we get to use, being able to pick up weapons off of the ground and instantly use them is another great addition

Yea i pretty much knew all of this. Yhe FiRST thing I did was elEXPLORE instead of staying on the story.

If you played Ghost of Tsushima, in Yotei, just play it like that. You WILL unlock all your skills and upgrade all your gear. Don't rush to upgrade everything, just enjoy the journey and explore at your own pace.

Games ok. But it feels like remix more than a sequel. Jin was way more likeable. Protagonists English voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Music is 10/10 though.

Does the game brighten up with story progress? Seems too dark for me, even at daytime on and OLED TV with HDR and the PS5 pro…
Turn on ranged attack info in Accessibility. Less immersive but if you're running the extra blood/tighter frame setting, it helps a ton!

Weapon swapping is clunky as hell. I wish there was a toggle instead of a double press. Having to press a button to switch, press the button for the weapon you want, and then pressing the switch button again is ridiculous. Also having the interact button and weapon swap as the same input isn't good design.
Otherwise it is a pretty good game.
Edit – if this happens to you there is a setting in accessibility that does this called simplified button holds. Turn it off and weapon swaps are flawless. Thanks to the two guys who commented letting me know it was a me problem and nothing to do with the game.

Great tips, brother. One more good one with your spy glass, you can get on high vantage point or use a lookout tower to scan the area with your spying glass and automatically mark things on your map. That will also save you money from the cartographer.
